वो शहर था मेरी शुरुआती सफर का, जहां मैंने प्यार के पंख फैलाए, उस गलियों में अक्सर जाया करता था, जहां मैंने इश्क के पतंग उड़ाए, वो रहते थे मरहूम मेरे इश्केदारी दीवानगी में, मांझे की देख में हमने कई पतंग ए इश्क़ गवाए, मरहूम ने तोड़े थे सपने मेरे उनके साथ के, इश्क ए परदे से दगा की बु कुबूल कर ना पाए, इतना तोड़ा की संभल ही गए जिंदगी में, बस इश्क का दम आज भी भर ना पाए, जीने का जज्बा भरपूर लिए दिल में, गिरे जो घुटनों तले इश्क में आज भी उठ ना पाए।। वो वक्त बड़ा मासूम था, मोहब्बत की चादर बस ओढ़े थे, नई ज़मीन थी मकान ए प्यार की, कुछ रास्तों से फूल भी तोड़े थे, ज़मीन पर सपनों की ईंट बैठाई थी, चंद लम्हों में ढह गया कमज़ोर नीव जो जोड़े थे, हमने सोचा किला मोहब्बत दो कबूतर का, चखी बेवफाई भीगे आंख हकीकत में रो रहे थे ।।
