Dharan, a well dressed man in his late 30s is waiting in lobby of Bliss Therapy Center. He always dresses well to create an impression about his confidence and well-ness. But his body language says that he has a very nervous and restless nature. He keeps shaking his knees and looking here and there, impatiently. He has an appointment with Dr. Jagdeesh. This is the first meeting. The receptionist had told him that he is much before time so he needed to wait. He was fine with that but he kept exhibiting his restlessness to all the people sitting there. He made others also restless and nervous. After a couple of hours, he was called inside. It's a very bright room with a glass window on one entire wall. The Doctor has a large frame for his body and a very calm countenance with sharp huge eyes on it. Dharan is a fragile looking person with weakness and fear writ on his face. Then the conversation began. AN IMAGINARY FRIEND: A SHORT STORY It was a wet, airy evening. The rain drops didn’t stay up in the clouds for long and were desperately coming down! It was pouring cats and dogs! The wind and the water had teamed up once again and thanks to that, the asphalt took a bath and drank some water! The regular denizens, consequently, took early leave from work. Unlike other eves, the road was crowded with cars, buses, rickshaws and people with umbrellas above their heads. A whole canopy of pink, green, black and rainbow coloured umbrellas could be seen!
