As I'm trying to sleep
Thoughts twirl around
My mind goes beep
At every little sound

As I'm laying to rest
Thinking goes frantic
My brain is a pest
It runs very erratic

In the stillness of the night, when all is asleep, I linger alone, in solitude's keep. Nocturnal by fate, not by choice, Yearning for slumber, a silent voice. As others drift off to realms unseen, I'm left with memories, hauntingly keen. Loneliness creeps in, memories unfold, Echoes of lost dreams, stories untold. Oh, how I long to forget, to find sweet reprieve, In the embrace of sleep, my soul to retrieve.
