The hands that I most admired
were the ones 'haldi' stained
Wiping runny noses
with the saree's edge
carrying pot pourri of smells
The ones that stroked
foreheads when in pain
Ignoring own soreness
Ten fingers, two palms
in memory, will always remain

They are all up there
sharing same space
Stern faces with
smiles replaced
Proud of their students
now themselves aged
Parents, Nuns, Teachers,
ordinary person,
Whomsoever met
on life's journey
embarking, disembarking
at different stations
Leaving behind
lasting impressions.
Each one contributing
to widen vision. #100poemsfor100days #day36 #yqbaba #yqquotes #writersnetwork #dailyinspiration #dailychallenge

The lockdown was getting to him
stuck indoors for thirty days
with six other roommates
in a mess room measuring
ten by ten. A cook by profession
earning a living for his family,
left behind in a remote Bihar village.

Worried they would die of starvation
without money from him sent,
ventured out on his bicycle,
determined to reach his village,
two thousand plus kilometers
of travel, through rough terrain
unmindful of the heat and pain

Puffing and panting, legs sore,
cycled seventy five kms, hoping
to slip out unnoticed at the State
border check post. He didn't...
They sent him back, back
pedalling seventy five kilometers,
feet blistered, spirits deflated,
like the tyres of his bicycle.

Across the nation there are
heart breaking stories of
the migrants, struggling to
stay sane in this mayhem,
never remotely anticipated
being caught in a catch 22 situation.
Life does throw few ugly surprises!

We all know the seven deadly sins, pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath and sloth. What would the eight one be and why? According to me, the eight deadly sin is apathy. To be so indifferent that it makes you cruel in the hour of need. #eightdeadlysin #rapidfire #YourQuoteAndMine Collaborating with YourQuote Baba #366days366quotes #writingresolution #Day36 #wingsofpoetry

The eighth deadly sin is adopting all the seven sins and making other's life a living hell with your presence! We all know the seven deadly sins, pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath and sloth.

#Day36
I was engrossed with numbers for the whole day,
I found 'x' and 'y' to find a lost number,
But while finding that x and y,
I realized, Don't we all need to find our niche
by finding our x-factor and yearn?

I was stuck with Accountancy for half of the day,
I debited debtors to increase my assets,
I credited creditors to increase my liabilities.
Don't we all need to increase our intangible
assets and decrease our tangible liabilities?

I was stuck with words for an hour or so,
I met poems while doing so,
Poems full of darkness and grief,
Poems full of brightness and bliss,
I found that there's life in every word I read,
And a poem in everyone I meet.
Don't we all need to become one of those poems
which aren't masterpieces but still engraved in hearts?

I read between the lines, to discover more than what is written,
I analyzed more than what I read,
Maybe, the life around us was molded into subjects,
And taught in a complicated way.

Each page has a life behind its obscurity,
Every word breathes poems, poems of life.
Everything is lively, yet we have grown to hate,
But can we even hate our own life? I was engrossed with numbers for the whole day,
I found 'x' and 'y' to find a lost number,
But while finding that x and y,
I realized, Don't we all need to find our niche
by finding our x-factor and yearn?

I was stuck with Accountancy for half of the day,
I debited debtors to increase my assets,
