Absence is charming, when it's visibly dead.

I used to skip classes a lot. Relatively more than anyone else in the batch.
Once I took a week off cause of viral infection. A girl who called herself my friend came up to me, just to let me know that when others take a leave, their absence is felt.
But you.. No one missed you. She giggled. No one even realized you weren't here.
I still remember how I felt, but never verbalized it. Maybe there is no name to it. Just one more wrinkle on my brain.

Flightless.

I feel tired of doing nothing but absorbing each emotion like a dry sponge.
I lay on my bed to watch mornings metamorphosing themselves into nights. And nights decaying their wings into acid rains. Flightless they die.

Sometimes those emotions are not even mine. I keep them close as souvenirs of all the humans who cleaned up their dirt and gores with that same sponge.

How mercy feels like a terrible disease. Specially if it is imposed on ourselves. And this makes me more of a doomed mortal and
