।। ओ३म् ।। वह्नेर्यथा योनिगतस्य मूर्तिन।र् दृश्यते नैव च लिङ्गनाशः। स भूय एवेन्धनयोनिगृह्यस्तद्वोभयं वै प्रणवेन देहे॥ अग्नि की मूर्ति अपने उद्गम अरणि में स्थित होते हुए भी तब तक दिखाई नहीं देती जब तक इसे रगड़ कर अग्नि को प्रज्जवलित नहीं किया जाता यद्यपि अग्नि का सूक्ष्म रूप अरणि में हमेशा विद्यमान रहता है। अरणि को रगड़ कर पुनः उद्गम से अग्नि को प्राप्त किया जा सकता है। इसी प्रकार प्रणव पर ध्यान करके आत्मा को अभिव्यक्त रूप में देखा जाता है जो ध्यान से पूर्व भी अव्यक्त रूप में मौजूद थी। Fire is not perceived in its source, the fire-stick, till it is ignited by percussion. The subtle essence of fire, nevertheless, is not absent in the stick; for fire can be obtained from the source, the fire-stick, by striking again. ।। ओ३म् ।। उद्गीतमेतत्परमं तु ब्रह्म तस्मिंस्त्रयं सुप्रतिष्ठाऽक्षरं च। अत्रान्तरं ब्रह्मविदो विदित्वा लीना ब्रह्मणि तत्परा योनिमुक्ताः॥ उपनिषदों में स्पष्ट रूप से परम ब्रह्म की घोषणा की गयी है। यह त्रिपक्षीय है। यह सुदृढ़ आश्रय तथा अविनाशी है। इसके आन्तरिक सारतत्व को जानकर वेदज्ञ ऋषि उसमें लीन हो गये और जन्म से मुक्त हो गये। This is expressly declared to be the Supreme Brahman. In that is the triad. It is the firm support, and it is the imperishable. Knowing the inner essence of this, the knowers of Veda become devoted to Brahman, merge themselves in It, and are released from birth.
