Thanks and gratitude sir Cijo Joseph Chennelil for reading my poem SOMETHING I LOOK AT-46 and writing a beautiful critical appreciation on it

 Smruti Ranjaniji,

Your poem titled"Something I Look at-46" is a poem that depicts a world which is in a state of turmoil and chaos. In our inner beings we are at war with ourselves with respect to which ideology to adopt,we have two options, one is related to a world of values and ideals which can add a moral framework to the society at large and other is a world which is in the grip of use and throw culture and crass commercialisation. The bulk number of people in the world does swim with the currents by embracing this culture of manipulation and radicalisation implemented and carried forward in the name of shortsighted development and wayward progress. In the outside world we are confronted with existential crisis in which if we want to live an upright life,we are looked through the prism of suspicion. The world is such where established principles do get hammered and violated in favour of a world which chases shadows of various dimensions and categories. The world is affected by conflicts of multiple pedigrees such as ethnic cleansing, extrajudicial killings, summary executions, prosecution and persecution of the innocent, murders in the name of religions, castes and creeds and deliberate and wanton vitiation of the political atmosheres and governance systems.Today lies are presented as truths and truths are presented as lies. The media networks and social networking sites prolong and protract the culture of untruths.Fake news and paid news have become part of our intellectual diets and menu.We have a society in the threshold of reaping the harvest of the poisonous and venomous seeds,it has sown in the fertile ground of hatred. The post truths and new normalities have become the order of the day.The pretentious behaviouria patterns are enacted everywhere and everyone wears masks which will one day slip and everyone stands thoroughly exposed as a result of it.The only way the world can be salvaged is to create an atmosphere in the world which promotes the principles of love, truth, brotherhood and peace.Let us hope for such an optimistic and sanguine tomorrow.Kudos to you for writing such a marvellous poem bringing forth the inconsistencies we human beings encounter in a world of quicksand in terms of ideologies and ideals.

SOMETHING I LOOK AT-46
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

Conflict
both inside and outside
inside it is a struggle between
mind and conscience
between the values
I inculcated and the goals I cherish

Outside
it is a war of me against all
between what I relish and
what I accomplish
it is a continuous struggle
of each against all for the
avenues of life, comfort, luxury, pelf, power,
recognition and all that make
modern life a beauty

With the tide of desires running high
and the wind of instincts and emotions
propelling it
the real I seem to
be sadly missing in the horizon

To reconcile
the irreconcilable conflicts in life
one has to peep inside to
have a glimpse of his real nature
which is but divinity expanded
and to understand the futility of
rat race for accomplishment
appreciation and recognition
which gives nothing but more
desires, more conflicts and pain

Happiness and peace of mind
all that one needs
at the end of the day
never comes out
of worldly pursuits
it descends as self realisation
and lies in a contented mind
where there is no conflict
what so ever

Thanks and gratitude to Prof Cijo Joseph Chennelil, eminent poet and literary critic for his wonderful critical appreciation of my poem'A LOOK AT LIFE-45'.Thanks and gratitude sir for your beautiful words

Smruti Ranjaniji,

Your poem titled"A Look At Life -45"is a poem that bares before us the peculiarities and contradictions that we come across here in this world. The fleeting nature of this world is a certainty which we can't discount at all.Everything in this world is subjected to change, that is the only reality we come across in our lives. The truths and lies also undergo multiple changes as per the transitory nature of the society. Our perceptions and assumptions do depend upon the individuals we come across in our lives, often our perceptions are created by the hysteria of the massive media networks spewing out venom on us with their fake and concotated new items. The truths that you perceive as rights may not have any truth in it afterall. There are certain bitter truths that are swept under the carpets, they are more truthful than the so called truths of the officialdom. For example,we all know why the wars are sustained here in this world,it is subtly to help the arms and ammunitions industries based in the West, but if we make such an argument, nobody takes notice of that at all, instead they all believe that the Western powers wage war in oriental territories to bring democracy to these places,in fact that contention is far from the truth. So a truth is not a permanent truth and likewise a lie is not a permanent lie,so always remember that today's lies are tomorrow's truths and today's truths are tomorrow's lies.So it is time that we must not be judgemental in terms of our approach, instead let us not judge others so that we shall not be judged at the end.Kudos to you for composing such a poem of magnificently philosophical pedigree.

A LOOK AT LIFE-45
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY

Nothing is absolute
in this relative world of ours
even truth and lies
good and bad
time and space are
subject to conditions

Nothing remains
pelf and power, beauty and ellegance
hatred and jealousy are
for a peroiod of time
everything keeps on changing
so the pair of opposites
circumstance, time and individuals involved
decide who and what is what
it depends how you perceive reality
in a world of relativity and
it is your perception, interpretation and prority that guides you
arrive a conclusion
which may not be right
your lie may save an innocent
your truth may cost ones life
some truths are blatant lies
some true lies are naked truths
more true than truth itself

It is the spell and purpose
that decides how true the truth is
and how false the lies are
nothing is more pseudo and poignant
than the bitter truth that harms the innocent and nothing is more true
than the lie which saves
the ingenious, helps justice and
fair play to blossom
and have its way

What is good for you
may not be so for another
and what is good is only for a period
of time in a particular circumstance
with change in circumstance and
individuals in an interaction situation
the texture and colour of truth and lie
good and bad change

Space is both finite and infinite
time not always goes ahead
it reverses its forward movement
and recedes back and
yesterday comes instead of tomorrow
under conditions
universe expands and contracts
stars become black dwarf, planetary nebula, black hole, grey matter
hence nothing remains as such
and keeps on changing, dying
and coming alive again and again

Birth and death
earth becoming black dwarf
and black dwarf becoming earth
bubbling with vitality
are but parts of life
already there in the cosmic drama
enacted on the big stage
