The Sailor

As you know, dear, I'm a sailor
like a wave, I, too, come and go
to me, you are very much dearer
wait for me, now I need to go

Months passed as she kept track
weather has been rough, she read
but the waves do return back
and for sure, he shall also, she said

Just like waves, days swept again
she ran barefooted through the floor
as she saw a sail drifting in the rain
a boat with people touched the shore

Everyone stepped out, but not him
her tears got mixed up with the rain
she feared her hope, getting so dim
walking back alone, she felt a pain

my return may be very, very long
