Eclipsed I was trying to arrange today's events to take place in my mind.. It's not hard to foretell things nowadays is it ? Mayans predicted the potential end of the world today, I guess we ain't that lucky, still breathing.. But not everything is completely unfair. I mean look at people putting stories of them doing Yoga postures (that they probably can't hold for 20 seconds). Also people putting stories of them smiling with their fathers (whom they've probably blocked on social media). One meditation, three rounds of Surya-Namaskar and one shuffled Spotify playlist later, I found myself reading three books at a time, and a headache surrounded my newly renovated sanity. I wondered if I'll ever be able to achieve a state of perpetual bliss, specially after writing a social critique? Will that be even worth it? The room on the roof Littered with books and unwashed clothes my room on the roof was a delight to be in. The mornings saw the sunshine peeping through the crack of the window illuminating the table clock which had ceased to work but still lying there where i had kept it when it was purchased. Along with that ray came the melodious chirpings and warbles of my winged and furry friends who pitter pattered on my window and pecked on the pane for their daily fix of water and grain. All through the day it remained closed but to be lit up with the blush of the setting sun that saw the squirrels dashing for a last fill from the crumbs of breads and nuts i provided. The moon occasionally came in through the window but mostly it were the spangle of the glittering stars that soothed the soul. But this room now had to be renovated and i was concerned about my daily visitors. The problem was soon solved with a dedicated perch and feeding bowl designed for them outside my room and a large window so that all the visitors need not be disappointed. While my dida (grandma) still let's me hide away into her bosom for a few moments, those moments seem almost stolen. Stolen from a stack of collective moments that would perhaps, let her sleep peacefully, sleep after she's completed all the household chores, for which she has forever refused a domestic help. //full poem in caption// I."And then the thunder said that the eighth of the children born to his sister of affection, would be his slayer.
