It was our country in the year nineteen forty seven, No more could the 'British Raj' survive in our golden den. Despite their policies that had parted minds, shattered strong souls, Emotions of countrymen congregated stronger than fear of death tolls. Patience and perseverance of heroes without capes truly helped, Extremists and moderates had taken oath, for our country had to be saved. No more suppression, no more dominance, no more stepping back, Dared the common man, to hold firm and high our national flag. Exploiting our skills, the British men had wished to rule us forever, Never had they thought we Indians would unite to be so mightier. Call of duty for the nation, the braves, the greats who finally set us free, End of the 'British Raj' era, the cowards were compelled to flee. Blood spilled through, The different parts of their bodies... Their uniforms turned into Asian Red... Sweat broke out on their, Tired foreheads... But they had no time to contemplate... They didn't stop, Didn't eat... But only waited for, The enemies to attack... Because they had the responsibility, To save the country, To save their motherland... And what do we do? Nothing! We ignore fighting off poverty... THE LETTER-A SHORT-STORY Circa 1825. It is a six month journey from London to Calcutta if the weather doesn't trouble us. I knew it was not a great idea to leave our own land and spend next two years in an unknown country like India. But I was helpless. Duty calls to take forward the British Raj in India. Like it was so difficult for me to take a decision to leave, I know it must have been equally difficult for you as well, to leave me. As you always did, that day also you played a new prank. This time you handed me a letter in an envelope asking me to open it only when you stop seeing the land from the ship and when no one is around me. You also mentioned that the content of the letter would change my life altogether very soon. How could you be so cruel to give such a huge task with so much of suspense!?
